Day 12: A Taste of TCU
Thursday, July 21, 2011
Today I visited TCU to speak with someone about a work study position in the music library. It was good to be back on campus, but also a little creepy. It was a ghost town! It didn't quite feel right. I saw only a few lonely summer school students on the sidewalks, "Yo" was deserted and parking lots were (gasp!) empty. Then add into the mix some serious road construction and renovation to several dorms, plus the fact that the Amon G. Carter Stadium is still only a shadow of its former self after implosion six months ago, and it was nearly "Twilight Zone" material! I was so glad to be there but it didn't really feel like home, which was confusing. Luckily when I head back to TCU for real in approximately 2 and a half weeks I won't be the only one! It looks like the people really do make our university what it is. I am so excited to get settled into the apartment with my 3 roommates: Samantha Erica and Lauren. August 10th can't get here fast enough!
On the road to TCU (and stuck in traffic... boo.) |
